Thinkware launches ARC 800 dash cam in Australia with 4K recording and connected protection

Thinkware has announced the Australian availability of its new dash cam, the ARC 800, a premium dual channel dash cam with intelligent parking surveillance and, for a limited time, a free LTE module for Australian customers.

The ARC 800 will be available as part of Autobarn and Supercheap Auto’s Black Friday campaigns as well as ongoing availability for RRP AU$849.99.

The ARC 800 features 4K UHD front recording with a Sony Star is 2 image sensor, AI Night Vision and Dual HDR and connected features for crystal clear footage 24/7. The front camera is capable of recording at up to 60 fps in 2K QHD mode while both front and rear cameras support Dual HDR for better video quality.

The rear camera sports a Full HD resolution and helps capture evidence of collisions all around your car, in all environments and all lighting conditions thanks to a 125 degree wide angle rear lens. The front camera also allows for maximum coverage with its 146 degree wide angled lens.

The front camera is capable of recording at up to 60 fps in 2K QHD mode while both cameras support Dual HDR for better video quality.

For continual connectivity a LTE module is required and Australian customers will be able to register their dash cam through Thinkware.com.au to receive the module for free.

New to the ARC series with the ARC 800’s AI-powered Night Vision for enhanced visibility and crisp footage in low light conditions during parking mode. The AI-based image processing helps capture details that some dash cams may find difficult to detect for greater peace of mind for driver.

Designed for drivers seeking premium image quality and advanced vehicle protection, the ARC 800 combines 4K UHD front recording, a Sony STARVIS 2 image sensor, AI Night Vision and Dual HDR with intelligent parking surveillance and connected features. Together, these technologies help drivers capture clear, reliable footage both on the road and while their vehicle is parked.

Other features include:

  • Built-in GPS
  • Advanced Driver Assistance Systems
  • Safety Camera Alerts
  • 2.3-inch touchscreen with an intuitive interface
  • Easy Wi-Fi device pairing
  • USB-C data transfer compatibility

Continuous monitoring while parked is also available when the ARC 800 dash cam is hardwired with the Thinkware cable or a compatible OBD-II power cable allowing for incident capturing while the car is parked, turned off and you are away from the scene. Remote monitoring is also available when connected with the Thinkware LTE module.

The ARC 800 introduces THINKWARE’s AI-powered Night Vision technology to Australian drivers, providing enhanced visibility and sharp, balanced footage in challenging low-light conditions during Parking Mode.

Using AI-based image processing, the technology helps capture details that may be difficult for conventional dash cams to detect, giving drivers greater visibility and peace of mind when their vehicle is parked.

The THINKWARE ARC 800 will be available through Autobarn and Supercheap Auto beginning October 29, 2026, for RRP AU$849.99, excluding installation costs.

Eligible customers will be able to register their ARC 800 at Thinkware.com.au to receive an LTE module.
