Daily and Sunday Telegraph iPad apps – Out Now!

The much anticipated iPad applications from News Limited’s tabloid “The Daily Telegraph” has launched in the Apple iTunes store.

Available for $7.99 (One month subscription) the app downloads fast, and requires you to enter your email address on launch.

First thoughts and screenshots follow – click Continue Reading!

The app downloaded nice and quick, mainly because the content lives online and the app is justa framework for the navigation.

At first, you are presented with a large opening splash of the Daily and Sunday Tele logo – there is no ‘status’ indicator, so I at first thought it had crashed, but shortly after the content appeared.

Opening App Splash Page

There are several sections across the top navigation, with sub menu drop downs.

You will also see full page ads, very similar to the Australian App launched earlier in the year.

Different though is the ‘in article’ ads that appear on the left of articles.

Overall, with 10 mins viewing, this looks like a fast and well laid out way to view the Tele website.  Crucial will be how exclusive this content is, what is in the paper and not here, and when the website goes behind a paywall how important this app will be!
