Kogan not stopping with Internet TV

It’s ‘range’ time at Kogan it seems… with the launch this morning of a ‘range’ of products under the ‘Agora’ name.

Click continue reading below for the full details, but in essence, Kogan has launched the Internet TV Set Top Box – a low price Android tablet, and two ‘ultra portable’ laptops – not netbooks, because these are 12 inchers, and running Ubuntu Linux – so they really are the ‘tablet with a keyboard’ style solution for people who just want the web and basic typing.

The specs of the Laptops aren’t top notch, these will not be great Windows machines running anything more than open office, but as I say, if you want something light and simple to get you online, it might be a different option for you.

The Tablet is an interesting one – a KEY item in the title is ‘capacitive touchscreen’ – this is a real bonus.  The $199 Tablets from Telstra and Optus were good, but no where near great, and the screen was one problem – resistive touch is clumsy and old school – this could be a great fun tablet at $139!  As a pure kids gaming machine that has legs in the market place!

Good work by the team at Kogan, let’s see how the products shape up when we get our hands on them.
