One of the best photography apps on the iPhone is finally getting an Android release, with the developers of Instagram confirming the app will launch on google’s mobile platform “very soon”.
Speaking at the SXSW conference this week, the developers admitted that the Android version of the popular photography social network app, which allows users to take photos, apply filters and share photos with the world, was currently in private beta, with a proper release incoming.
They even went so far as to confess that the Android app was superior to the iPhone app in many ways. Given the iPhone app has been downloaded 27 million times and was voted as app of the year last year, that’s a pretty big call to make.
There’s no firm release date, but it’s good to know that Android users will soon be able to enjoy the thrills of sharing retro photography with the world.
