F1 2013 the game – coming this spring with classic F1 cars and drivers

The F1 computer game from Codemasters is for diehard fans an annual tradition.  We wait for it to come, then we engross ourselves into every track and every race.  The 2013 version is coming soon and offers a fantastic new feature for the purists and lovers of 80’s and 90’s F1 – Classic cars, and classic drivers.

All we know about the date is “spring” which matches the regular release cycles of recent years, and with only minor tweaks to cars, drivers and tracks in the last few years F1 2013 really needed something big to get the sales a game like this deserves.  That something big is without doubt the “classic edition”.

The good news is, even the standard F1 2013 game comes with classic 1980’s era content, including 10 iconic drivers, 5 legendary cars, the Brand Hatch circuit and Jerez circuit.

That’s on top of all the official 2013 cars, drivers and tracks.

The game itself will offer new game modes, improved handling and artificial intelligence for the computer driven competitors on track as well as an extended RaceNet multi-player experience.

If you really love your F1 you’ll probably opt for the “Classic Edition”, which as well as those 2013 inclusions and 1980’s content also contains 1990’s content such as the Imola and Estoril circuits, 7 drivers and 5 cars from the 90’s.

The 80’s cars include Williams, Ferrari and Lotus, while the 90’s cars also feature Ferrari and Williams.  Drivers include Nigel Mansell, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi and Gerhard Berger in the 80’s and David Coulthard, Eddie Irvine, Alain Prost and Jacques Villeneuve from the 90’s.

I for one – can – not – wait.
