Fully Retro Audio – Laser Encore Grand has it all! Our review

Like most of us, I’ve got a fair few Vinyl records in a box up in the roof, packed away, never to be touched again but impossible to throw away because, well – history.

Dust off your vinyl, grab a pencil to rewind your cassettes and ready your USB stick because Laser has you covered with every retro audio combination possible with the Encore Grand.

For just $199.95 this thing is worth buying “just because”.

Seriously, up top there’s your Phono record player, ready for 33, 45 and 78 RPM vinyls, on the side there’s a cassette slots for your mix-tapes and cassingles, while around the front there’s a CD drawer, Aux in, AM/FM radio and on the side a USB slot and SD card reader to record stuff with!

Oh, and Bluetooth too if you want to be all hip and modern.

Yep, every format of audio you have can be played, and each of them can be recorded too just by inserting a USB and pressing a button.

I enjoyed several cassettes and then turned to my vinyl collection over many nights enjoying flashbacks from years gone way way by.

Plus, there’s RCA outputs or headphone out if you want to up the speaker quality.

I connected my Sonos speaker and listened to the line in feed from the Laser Encore Grand – only problematic when you’re at low volume and in the same room as the record player because the volume from the needle alone was good enough to hear yet the Sonos was a touch delayed – but that’s a first world non-retro problem if you’ve ever heard one.

Look, the quality isn’t spectacular, but for $200 as a way to dig into that box of old tapes and records, this is an absolute winner.  Buy two and give one to someone in your family.
