Pre-orders live for ASUS ROG Xbox Ally X20 and Premium bundle – arriving in October

Announced at Computex earlier this year, the limited-edition ROG XBOX Ally X20 and X20 Premium bundle with XReal AR Glasses, has finally been priced in Australia, with a launch date set for October.

Announced as part of the ROG 20 year anniversary celebrations, the ROG Xbox Ally X20 adds a larger, brighter 7.4” OLED display which offers 1080p resolution at 120Hz refresh with a 1400 nits peak brightness.

The limited edition Premium bundle which also includes a pair of ROG XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses and Pelican Protector case.

The ROG Xbox Ally X20 will use a redesigned translucent black chassis with gold accents, with a new light up Xbox logo. ASUS has also updated the controls on the ROG Xbox Ally X20 with the new model using TMR (contactless magnetic) thumbsticks that are immune to stick drive. There’s also a newly re-designed D-Pad which transforms with up to 8-way control and refined buttons that sit flush with the chassis.

Internally though not much has changed from the ROG Xbox ALLY X, with the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme Processor running the show with 24GB of high-speed DDR5 RAM and a 1TB M.2 SSD for storage.

The XREAL R1 Edition 20 Gaming AR Glasses included in the premium bundle brings a more immersive gaming experience giving players a micro-OLED 240Hz display in front of their eyes, giving them a 171-inch virtual screen at 4 metres.

Brad Howe, Head of Consumer for ASUS Australia said

“The way Australians play has changed significantly over the last two decades, and our hardware needed to evolve as well,. Gaming is now a shared family activity, but dedicated players are also looking for more premium, uncompromised experiences that can serve as a genuine alternative to a traditional PC setup. The ROG XBOX Ally X20 is the result of listening to both. We’ve upgraded the screen and controls for a console-quality experience you can hold, while providing a versatile device that solves the one TV problem for the modern gaming family.”

The ROG XBOX Ally X20 handheld gaming PC is available for pre-order in Australia now, with the products launching in October 2026. Pre-order online via the ASUS Store and from JB Hi-Fi.
