BioLite your campsite with the BaseLantern and SiteLights: Our Review

Couple of important things for the modern campsite.  Light, and power.  Light to keep an eye on the campsite, power to keep your devices powered so the music can keep playing for your singalong.

BioLite are a company with a huge range of products for the lovers of the outdoors but these two took my interest. The BaseLantern and the SiteLights.

Packing a 12,000 mAh battery the BaseLantern XL will set you back $230.54 but it’s bright enough to fill your campsite with light.

It’s quite small, but the light is 500 lumens, and that’s bright. Plus it’s Bluetooth enabled to allow you to use an app to control the colours, brightness and even set a timer.

With that huge battery, you can charge your phones and tablets too – so your Bluetooth streaming can continue days into your camping adventure.

What do you do if your campsite is bigger than just one lamp?  Easy – the SiteLights – these small lights come with a 3 meter cable.  That cable is built into the light, and has a 2.5 mm (headphone style) connector on the end.

The cable winds around and into the SiteLight just like a YoYo.  The 2.5mm plug goes into the side of the BaseLantern, providing power to the smaller lamp, the great thing is, the second lamp you get in the SiteLight pack ($59.95) can be plugged into the BaseLantern or the other SiteLight.  So you can light up to 6m away, or 3m in each direction.

Plus, you can buy more SiteLights and go even further.

There is a smaller BaseLantern with a 7800mAh battery for $132.82 which will give you the same features, but if you can push it, the XL is a winner.

Your campsite needs these.
