2018 Holden Commodore Supercar revealed after 10 months in development

Holden and Red Bull Racing have taken the wraps of the next generation Commodore race-car which will make its track debut in 2018.

With an all new Holden Commodore hitting Aussie roads in early 2018 it had to follow that a new Supercar needed to be designed and built for the race track.

Holden trusted that job to Triple Eight Engineering – the team who run the Red Bull Racing Holden Supercars today.

Supercar driver Jamie Whincup has had a run behind the wheel and has a positive view of the new Supercar  “The team’s been burning the midnight oil behind the scenes for this moment when we finally get to bring the brand new Commodore to the track and test it for the first time,” he said.

“So far it feels fantastic. The work that they’ve done behind the scenes to this point, in my opinion we’re 99 per cent there. There’s just some fine-tuning that’s got to go on in the next few weeks and the next few months until we unleash the full version in 2018.”

The black and white design here in these photos is a camouflage with the race livery to be revealed early in 2018.

There will be more aero tests before homologation ahead of the car’s race debut in March next year at the Adelaide 500.
