Nokia 3310 is back in Australia! Buy it for $89.95 mid-October

Earlier in the year at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona Nokia rose from the ashes with new smartphone announcements, but the headliner grabber was the new 3310 – it got lots of headlines, but sadly wasn’t compatible with Australian networks.

Operating on 2G networks, the announced phone was never going to be a great product in Australia – however today the Global Nokia team announced the news we’d all been waiting for – the Nokia 3310 3G.

And yes, it has Snake!  They chose to launch the phone at the Snake enclosure at Sydney’s Taronga Zoo.

The new “dumb phone” or feature phone as they prefer to be called, will be available mid-October for $89.95.

“Our reimagining of the Nokia 3310 has been a global and cultural phenomenon. In a world dominated by smartphones, the mix of nostalgia and a beautiful phone that just keeps going has captured people’s imagination. Our fans around the world have been asking for this iconic phone to support 3G. Fans asked, we listened, and today welcome the Nokia 3310 3G,” said Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer, HMD Global.

And they’ve brought back more standard Nokia colours to with an Azure and Charcoal line to compliment the fancy Red and Yellow announced earlier in the year.

Battery life?  27 days sitting waiting for calls:)

You’ll find it outright at JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman and as a prepaid device though Vodafone and  Optus.
