Recently I told you about some pretty wild ideas coming out of Holden’s performance division HSV. The US Chevrolet Camaro and Silverado will go on sale right here via HSV accredited dealerships. Of course they will be conversion jobs and won’t be badged as HSV’s, but rest assured they will comply with Australian Design Rules.
Well the other left-field idea was a dressed-up Holden Colorado, known as the SportsCat or the jazzier SportsCat+. In short this is all about new body kits and chassis enhancements, you can read the full details here. Today HSV released pricing for what is hoped will be a prized ute, although after seeing the Ford Ranger Raptor last week on paper I can tell you it’s no match. But I can guarantee the lesser SportsCat, yes that name grates, will undercut the mega Ranger on price.
At launch it will weigh in with a RRP of $60,790 while the halo SportsCat+ kicks off at $66,790.
“Given the breadth of styling, comfort and engineering enhancements, we’re confident the SportsCat range represents outstanding value”, said HSV’s Managing Director, Tim Jackson. “Our two-tier product strategy provides buyers with the flexibility to choose the model that best suits their work and lifestyle requirements”, he said.
