ECOVACS DEEBOT 710 review

Last month I told you about new robot vacuum from ECOVACS called the DEEBOT 710. The new product was launched with a tempting price tag of $499. I noted at the time there’s usually a substantial difference between a cheap robot vacuum and one that costs north of $1,000.00.

The more you spend the smarter whatever robot you’ve chosen to purchase gets. However, the 710 has proven to me that now doesn’t have to be the case. Thanks to what ECOVACS call “Smart Navi 2.0 Mapping technology” the device is a bit of a sleeper in the brains department.

It has an onboard camera that plots a consistently safe path which helps the DEEBOT 710 navigate more efficiently. Now when it comes to the mapping side of things there’s a few things to point out. It does produce somewhat of an outline of your home, but it’s nothing like what the DEEBOT OZMO 900 series can do.

The latter provides a blueprint using Lidar, while the 710 simply provides you a footprint post clean.

But I have been using the DEEBOT 710 at home and in terms of the clean and the smarts, I’d honestly go with the sub $500 robot vacuum option over one that costs around $1000.

You can check out how it performs at EFTM HQ in this video. But if you’re on a budget or don’t require the super fancy mapping technology or even mopping capability then I’ll say this. The ECOVACS DEEBOT 710 is the best all-rounder robot vacuum on the market.
