Alongside their ‘Classic’ range of handsets, HMD Global has refreshed their mid-range phones overnight with the announcement of the Nokia 6.2 and Nokia 7.2 handsets.
The Nokia 6.2 and 7.2 share a similar design which includes a 6.3-inch FullHD+ resolution display that has a tiny tear notch and takes advantage of Nokia’s ‘PureDisplay’ technology which can display up to 1 billion colours.
The body of the phones are essentially identical, with the rear of the phone housing a fingerprint sensor and a triple rear camera array using ZEISS optics.
The specs of the cameras are slightly different, with the Nokia 6.2 sporting a 16 MP main sensor, while the 7.2 gets a beefier 48 MP 1/2″ Quad Pixel main sensor. Both phones have an 8MP sensor behind an ultra-wide angle lens and a 5 MP depth sensor.
Under the hood, the phones diverge again with the Nokia 6.2 using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor, while the 7.2 will use the SD660.
Both phones will run Android One version of Android 9 (Pie) which includes up to 3 years of security and feature updates.
European pricing for the phones have been announced with the Nokia 7.2 priced at €299 for the 4GB/64GB model, and €349 for the 6GB/64GB model in Cyan Green, Charcoal, and Ice (white). The Nokia 6.2 will be sell for €199 for 3GB/32GB and €249 for 4GB/64GB model in Ceramic Black or Ice (white).
HMD Global is expected to announce local configurations, pricing and availability closer to launch.
