The Volkswagen Group will cough up some serious dollars for the wordwide diesel emissions scandal. We have news today that class action plaintiffs in Australia will score approximately $1,400 on average for each affected vehicle.
The last thing Volkswagen wants is the various lawsuits in Australia to drag on. While still subject to approval by the Federal Court of Australia up to 100,000 Australian vehicles are eligible.
The settlement is based on a no-admissions basis and covers five class-action lawsuits. Final proceedings should conclude by 2020.
