Fitbit is synonymous with fitness tracking and they’re upping their fitness band game today with the launch of the Fitbit Charge 4, with built-in GPS and NFC.
The fitband is up for pre-order from Fitbit for $249.95 in classic Black, Rosewood and Storm Blue colour forms – or in a special edition woven Granite coloured band for $289.95.
Fitbit says the Charge 4 includes ‘most advanced combination of sensors and features’, which means you still get heart rate tracking, step counting and sleep tracking, but they’ve included GPS for fitness tracking outdoors, and NFC for mobile payments – great for nabbing that bottle of water on a run without having to lug your wallet or tapping onto a Sydney bus. You also get an SpO2 sensor which can be tracked in under ‘Estimated Oxygen Variation Graph’ in the Fitbit app.
The Fitbit Charge 4 will also see the launch of ‘Activity Zone Minutes’, a more complete way for you to understand your physical activity.

The Fitbit Charge 4 is good to go for most sports, including swimming with Fitbit advising the band is water-resistant to 50 metres.
The Fitbit Charge 4 will last you up to 7 days on a charge, but the GPS inclusion will wear heavily on your battery though with just five hours of continuous use – so finish that marathon in under 5 hours!
You can pre-order the Fitbit Charge 4 now from the Fitbit Australia website, or through local retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Amazon, Officeworks, The Good Guys, Myer, Bing Lee and Big W. The Fitbit Charge 4 is expected to be in stores on April 14th.
