OPPO’s affordable A91 gives you a 48MP quad-camera and a big battery for under $500

OPPO has today announced their latest entry to the Australian market with the A91 hitting stores and online retailers from today.

For $499 the phone includes a lot of hardware including a big 6.4-inch FHD+ resolution AMOLED display with a tiny teardrop notch housing a 16MP selfie camera. The quad-camera rear setup includes a 48MP main sensor with an 8MP  sensor with macro lens & additional 2MP B/W & 2MP portrait sensors.

The rest of the specs on the phone are equally impressive for the price point with a Mediatek Helio P70 processor, and 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage which can be expanded with microSD cards. The phone includes NFC for tap & pay – very important right now – and a big 4,025mAh battery which should see you through a full day – but if not includes OPPO’s VOOC 3.0 Flashcharge supercharge which can get you from 0 to 10% charge in five minutes and to 35% in 20 minutes.

  • 6.4-inch AMOLED (2400 x 1080 pixels), 408 ppi
  • Mediatek MT6771V (Helio P70) with ARM Mali G72 MP3 900MHz GPU

  • 4025mAh with VOOC 3.0 Flashcharge
  • 160.2 x 73.3 x 7.9mm @ Approx. 172g

It’s a lot of hardware for $499, something Michael Tran, Managing Director at OPPO Australia agrees with saying “The A91 is OPPO’s latest premium but affordable device, giving Aussies a quality smartphone packed full of the features they want and need,”

The phone is now available in Lightening Black and Blazing Blue colour options from JB HiFi, Officeworks, Amazon, MobileCiti, and Woolworths Mobile, with Vodafone starting to offer it from April 15th.
