Samsung unveils new home appliances, mobile phones, tablets and a fitness band

At their virtual ‘Life Unstoppable’ event tonight Samsung has unveiled their 2020 range of new appliances, TVs and mobile devices.

Appliances

Washer and Dryer

Look, I need as much help as I can get in the laundry and the new Samsung WW9800T Washing Machine and DV8000T Tumble Dryer sound like just what I need. The machines feature AI and auto-linking capabilities which means your dryer knows just what finished in the washer and can set it self accordingly.

The WW9800T has learning capabilities so it can work out what you wash and when. The Washer and Dryer are also compatible with the Smart Things app which can tell you all the info about your wash, including when it’s finished.

The WW9800T uses the EcoBubble bubble generator which pre-mixes water, air and detergent creating soft foam bubbles to quickly penetrate fabric. The foam also means you can wash in cold water to save energy.

The machine includes four sensors to detect weight and soil levels and automatically adjust water and detergent.

And, as we’re living in COVID times, there’s a steam wash also available to sanitise your clothes and remove 99.9% of bacteria and allergens.

Fridge

For those of you needing a new fridge the new RB7300T Refrigerator is likely just what you’re after.

The large, 385L capacity fridge will be available in three different height options to fit different sized fridge holes. The Frost Free fridge keeps a constant cooling temperature thanks to Metal Cooling to keep an even temperature even when the outside temperature changes.

The RB7300T Refrigerator features an innovative resizable crisper drawer that lets you set different temperatures for each side.

There’s also a dual purpose rack and shelf option offering flexible storage for wine or food. The 2 step foldable shelf also let’s you slide it back to store taller items on the shelf below.

Mobile

Samsung highlighted the use of the Smart Things app to control a number of their appliances, and TVs. This of course means you’re going to need a new mobile device and Samsung has two new options – the A42 (5G) smartphone and Galaxy Tab A7 tablet – there’s even a new fitness band with the Galaxy Fit2 Band.

Galaxy A42 (5G)

While details on the phone are scant, the Galaxy A42 (5G) will include a big 6.6-inch Super AMOLED display, a quad-camera array on the rear and of course 5G connectivity.

Specs for the phone are likely to see it powered by a Snapdragon 690 processor, 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Rumours suggest the phone could have a 5,000 mAh battery as well meaning it will last all day.

Galaxy Tab A7

If the recently announced Galaxy Tab S7 was a little rich for your blood, Samsungs Galaxy Tab A7 tablet could be more pocket friendly.

The Galaxy Tab A7 includes a 10.4-inch screen mounted a symmetrical bezel in a premium metal body. The tablet is aimed at media consumption with Quad Dolby Atmos speakers included.

Samsung is including a new Samsung Kids app which Samsung says ‘features a variety of educational and entertaining content’.

Galaxy Fit2

Samsung has always strived to provide solutions for all their customers, and if the new Galaxy Watch Active 3 is a little rich for you, the Galaxy Fit2 fitness band is a more budget friendly option that still tracks everything you need.

The fitness band can automatically detect and tracks up to five different types of activity. Data captured includes calories burned, heart rate, distance and more.

The Galaxy Fit2 includes a long-lasting battery which can run for up to 15 days, or 21 days if you tweak the settings.

The extensive battery life means that sleep tracking is possible with a daily analysis and unique Sleep Score provided daily.

There are also over 70 different face options so you can swap out to best suit your style.

Samsung Australia hasn’t announced any time frames or pricing for the new range of devices and appliances, but we’ll see more on this closer to their Australian debut.
