Samsung unveils The Terrace TV – an outdoor TV to change your backyard! Plus the Premiere 4K short throw projector

In lieu of an event at the annual IFA tech show, Samsung has announced additions to its 2020 range virtually tonight. The announcement included The Terrace outdoor tv, and The Premiere, a 4K Ultra short throw Laser projector.

The Terrace – the ultimate Outdoor TV

The outdoor TV market is generally awash with solutions to keep the TV protected while outside but with an IP55 rating, The Terrace is ready for rain or shine straight out of the box. The Terrace is protected against rain, humidity, dust and insects so you can enjoy a night outside watching the big game, or just a family movie night outside in summer.

The Terrace Outdoor TV will be available in three sizes: 55″, 65″ and 75″ sizes and takes into account many of the challenges presented by being mounted outdoors. Samsung has included a sleek design to blend into your patio area, and Anti-Glare technology to eliminate reflections. The Terrace also includes unrivaled brightness so the QLED 4K quality is never compromised even with the bright outdoor light.

Also announced is The Terrace Soundbar, a wireless soundbar option that’s perfect for the outdoors. The Terrace soundbar is IP55 rated and features adaptive sound which analyses audio to deliver superior sound quality.

Australian Pricing and Availability The Terrace Outdoor TV

These units will ship in October 2020 however pre-orders are kicking off now at Harvey Norman, JB Hi-Fi and The Good Guys.

The Terrace Outdoor TV isn’t cheap – not at all. The 75 inch version will set you back $10,999, the 65 incher $7,999 and the 55 incher $5,999.

The Premiere – Short Throw Projector

For those looking for a larger, or more versatile display a projector is a great option. Samsung has announced their latest short throw projector, The Premiere.

The Premiere uses cutting edge triple lasers to transmit a 130-inch 4K picture onto almost any wall in your home. The Premiere is also the world’s first HDR10+ certified projector. The Premiere also has powerful built-in woofers and Acoustic Beam surround sound negating the need for bigger sound equipment in smaller areas.

An interesting new feature of The Premiere is the inclusion of ‘Filmmaker Mode’. Samsung introduced this mode on TVs last year, but this is a first for a projector. Filmmaker mode preserves the ‘creative intent’ by disabling settings like motion smoothing and maintaining frame rate, colours and more so you can see a movie the way a director wanted you to.

Samsung hasn’t shared pricing for The Premiere as yet, but it will be hitting our shores in the coming months.
