He’s the biggest name in the current NBA era and now his name will help under-resourced communities with sporting pathways through his “Curry Brand” partnership with Under Armour.
The bloke is a six time NBA All-star, two times MVP and three time NBA champion – he’s a freak. And now the Curry Brand will be a purpose-led performance brand to help all young people have equitable access to sport.
It’s all in partnership with leading sports apparel brand Under Armour
There will be gear in both Basketball and Golf categories, and you can certainly imagine an expansion into more areas over the years ahead.
Curry himself said of the launch “Through the community work I’ve done with Under Armour for over a decade, I’ve learned that talent is everywhere, but opportunity is not,”
“All of our work together has been dedicated to creating a more equal playing field that closes the gap between those two areas. Through Curry Brand, along with the work of Ayesha and my foundation Eat.Learn.Play., I now have a long term plan to continue to address the barriers to sport that often hinder and limit a child’s potential for greatness.”
Under Armour CEO Patrik Frisk said “Now more than ever, sport is an increasingly important aspect of our communities, and the fact that some young people never get the opportunity to participate is a problem,”
“This problem, however, is something Under Armour and Stephen Curry felt that we could confidently work to solve together, so with our shared values in mind, we created Curry Brand to do just that.”
Here in Australia, Under Armour has partnered with Charity Bounce to provide Curry Brand Balls to Aussie individuals and communities overcoming disadvantage.
The range launches on December 12 at Under Armour stores, online and Footlocker.
