The Vivo X60 Pro 5G with improved Gimbal Camera system now available in Australia

Smartphone maker Vivo has launched their latest flagship smartphone, the X60 Pro 5G smartphone in Australia today, bringing with it an improved camera gimbal stabilisation system.

The X60 Pro 5G is launching with a collaboration with German optics company ZEISS, a well known leader in optics. The phone camera hardware and software has been  co-engineered with ZEISS with the headline feature the updated gimbal stabilsation system which sees the main 48MP sensor ‘hosteled on a gimbal double-ball suspension mount’ which eliminates potential hand shake when snapping a shot.

Captured memories are often ruined with blurry imagery and shaky footage, the X60 Pro solves this with a built-in Gimbal Stabiliser.” Says Laura Hayward, Communications Manager, vivo Australia. “The technology counteracts hand movements, so Aussies can experience a steady shot every time, whether it’s a spontaneous moment or a live action event the X60 Pro will capture it in perfect clarity – bringing us all a little closer.

The X60 Pro has a total of three rear cameras including the 48MP main gimbal camera as well as a 13MP sensor with wide-angle macro and a 13MP sensor with optical zoom that offers ‘professional portraits’ with a 50mm equivalent focal length.

The Gimbal Stabilisation 2.0 system improves on the gimbal system in last year’s X50 Pro which added some professional level stabilisation to your shots. The latest system includes a 5-axis mount which will automatically correct any ‘vertical, horizontal and rotational lens movements’, so it should be even easier to snap a great, clear shot.

Beyond the camera, the phone itself is a ripper with a 6.56” curved HDR10+ certified ‘Ultra O Screen’ with 120Hz refresh rate for super smooth scrolling and gaming. The Ultra O screen also includes a fairly discrete punch-hole notch for the 32MP selfie camera.

There’s a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 5G processor, 12GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage running the show underneath, and a 4200mAh battery which supports 33W Flash Charge offering up to 63% recharge in just 30 minutes.

You can pick up the Vivo X60 Pro from JB Hi-Fi, Harvey Norman, Big W, The Good Guys, Amazon and Mobileciti for $1,099 AUD from today. We’ve got the Vivo X60 Pro 5G on the review bench and there’ll be a full review out shortly.
