TAG Heuer teams up with Timeless retro gaming icon Mario – TAG Heuer Connected x Super Mario Limited Edition

Some smartwatches are just plain. Others are highly functional, but lack the flair you might want to really showcase your personality. When it comes to a classic timepiece there’s nothing better than TAG, and when they release a limited edition Super Mario version of the TAG Heuer Connected – it’s going to sell fast.

This is at its core the high quality and outstanding smartwatch that is the TAG Connected. However, when you add some Super Mario design you get something utterly unique, yet luxurious.

Limited to just 2,000 worldwide, this watch is aimed fairly and squarely at those with the status to want and own a TAG, but the childhood love for Super Mario.

“The inspiration for this collaboration came from our desire to gamify and bring excitement to our new wellness application and Super Mario instantly came to our minds,” says Frédéric Arnault, CEO of TAG Heuer. “And it’s not just his international and intergenerational appeal that clinched it. Mario is the ultimate super-active character whose perseverance and tenacity get him out of every situation. The new hero watchface gives life to this iconic character and encourage users to team up with Mario to get out there and be more active? The TAG Heuer Connected is the perfect companion for a connected life and every active person’s best friend. With this Super Mario limited-edition smartwatch, they can add a bit of fun and originality to their activities and wellness.”

In addition to the physical watch being beautifully co-branded, there are two versions of the Heuer 02 watchface that have been created for this collaboration. One is a fun rendition using Super Mario’s iconic red and blue colours. The other subtle touches of Mario’s red Cap.

A Third face, the orbital, has had it’s neural network replaced by Super Mario icons rotating around. Very nice.

The crown on the side – has the M for Mario too. Really nice.

Of course it comes with an exclusively designed packaging for this collaboration, as well as a travel case in Super Mario red.

Available from Thursday, the price? If you need to ask, you probably don’t need to know:)
