LG announces UltraGear 17G90Q gaming laptop with RTX graphics

Following the announcement of new ultra-portable Gram laptop at CES last year, LG has entered the gaming laptop market expanding their UltraGear lineup with the 17G90Q Gaming laptop with design cues taken from the Gram range.

LG’s entry into the gaming laptop market is starting well with the laptops powered by an 11th Gen Intel Tiger Lake H processor, an option for either 16 or 32GB of dual-channel memory and a dual SSD setup which includes a 1TB drive by default. To power it all is a 93Wh battery.

The laptop is using an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Max-Q graphics card to power the 17.3-inch IPS panel with 1ms response and 300Hz refresh rate. To keep the CPU and GPU cool, LG has included a vapor chamber inside the laptop chassis with the laptop measuring just just 21.4mm thin and weighing less than 2.7kg.

The laptop includes a Fingerprint Reader on Power button, as well as FHD webcam with IR Camera for Windows Hello and a Dual Mic for improved audio quality. There’s Wi-Fi 6E on-board as well as an RJ45 network connection for great connectivity and a 2 Way speaker (2.0W x 4) with DTS X Ultra.

Seo Young-jae, senior vice president and head of the IT business unit of LG Electronics Business Solutions Company said of the launch

The LG UltraGear gaming laptop has everything needed to tackle the latest high-spec games, delivering the smooth, responsive gameplay that all gamers want. Our first-ever gaming laptop, the 17G90Q differentiates itself from competing products with its premium hardware, generous, high-quality screen, and a sleek, lightweight design that maximizes convenience and portability.”

LG Australia hasn’t confirmed pricing and availability for the LG UltraGear 17G90Q but we’re keen to see it when it launches.

EFTM’s coverage of CES 2022 is supported by Intel, Vodafone, LG, Samsung and Hisense
