Samsung unveils 2022 monitor range for gaming, work and entertainment

Samsung has unveiled their latest range of monitors, with three new models covering their Odyssey gaming range as well as Smart monitors and S-series for professionals.

The 2022 Samsung monitor range includes a versatile set of monitors that feature beautiful picture quality and intuitive features says Samsung. There’s the new Odyssey Neo G8 for gamers, Smart Monitor M8 for smart features and the High Resolution Monitor S8 featuring comfortable ergonomics.

Hyesung Ha, Executive Vice President of Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics said of the new range

Samsung’s 2022 lineup represents the next generation in monitor innovation with offerings that meet the demands of competitive gamers, professional designers and everyone in between. As the work and entertainment worlds continue to evolve, we are proud to deliver monitors that boost users’ experiences from the comfort of their homes.

Odyssey Neo G8

Samsung is coming in hot with the Odyssey Neo G8, with the monitor the first to offer 4K resolution with a 240Hz refresh rate.

As well as the 4K resolution, the 32-inch display has a 1000r curve and a 1ms response, as well as 2,000nit peak brightness and a million-to-one static contrast ratio.

Samsung has used similar design language of the Odyssey G9 for the Odyssey Neo G8 with a sleek white exterior that looks clean and fresh. The rear of the monitor features their CoreSync Lighting feature which can project colour schemes detected on the monitor onto the wall behind it.

Smart Monitor M8

The new Samsung Smart Monitor M8 is three quarters thinner than the previous monitor for improved space efficiency, while still offering all the Smart TV and productivity apps you need built right into the display.

The 32-inch monitor measures just 11.4mm thin and has a UHD resolution with UHD panel which provides 99% sRGB color gamut while supporting 1.07 billion colors at 400nit brightness, making it perfect for watching videos, reading documents, editing photos and more.

The built-in productivity apps built-in directly to the monitor which also serves as a SmartThings control hub without the need for a PC.

Samsung says the Smart Monitor M8 32” is great for remote workers, with a movable magnetic SlimFit camera included that enables crystal-clear video and supports built-in video apps like Google Duo.

The Smart Monitor M8 also includes a USB Type-C port capable of charging at 65W.

High Resolution Monitor S8

Last is the High Resolution Monitor S8 – Model S80PB – which will come in two sizes: 27-inch and 32-inch, with both offering professional level UHD graphics including up to 98% of the DCI-P3 colour gamut.

The High Resolution Monitor S8 is the first to be certified as Glare Free by UL (Underwriter Laboratories) and has a matte display to reduce light refraction.

The monitors both include a 90W USB Type-C port as well as a LAN port and the stand is height adjustable with tilt, swivel and pivot points for excellent positioning.

At this stage there’s been no announcements from Samsung regarding availability or pricing for any of the monitors announced, but we’ll hear more when they arrive.
