Tesla Model Y orders open in Australia – Deliveries start in August, priced from $68,900

Two and a half years after deliveries began in the United States, the Tesla Model Y will be on roads in Australia later this year with Tesla today announcing the “Design studio” for Model Y was now live.

Design Studio is the ordering page for any Tesla Vehicle, and it can’t go live until the price is set and production is ready – and that’s now.

Prices will start at $68,900 – plus on road cost, so in NSW you’re looking at $74,000 to own a Model Y.

The performance version is $98,689 plus on roads offering a 0-100km/h speed time of 3.7seconds – down from the 6.9seconds of the standard rear-wheel drive model.

Model Y is the baby SUV version of the hugely popular Model 3 which has taken Tesla’s sales in Australia to huge numbers in just a short time, the Model Y is expected to do the same.

Range on the Standard model is 455km, while the Performance model gets 514km range.
