LG flexes their OLED game with a new flexible display with customisable curve

It’s been a long while since we saw LG flex their bendable muscles in the TV space, but they’re back with the LG OLED Flex LX3, a new 42” bendable OLED screen designed for gaming, or just kicking back to watch some TV

Unlike current curved monitors which offer a static curve, the LG OLED Flex LX3 can go from completely flat to a 900R curve, with up to twenty levels of curvature in between, letting you curve the display at 5% increments at the push of a button on the included remote.

The display uses self-lit OLED technology and being an OLED panel it presents perfect blacks and accurate colour representation.

While it’s a big TV, it’s gamers that LG is aiming for with the LG OLED Flex, with HDMI 2.1 support – perfect for supporting the latest gen Xbox and Playstation and offering Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) and auto low-latency mode, including a fast 0.1millisecond response time with low input lag. It’s also G-SYNC Compatible and AMD FreeSync Premium certified.

An adjustable stand will let you position the display at the right height and offers tilt adjustment letting you tilt the display up to 10-degrees toward you, or 5-degrees away from you for perfect comfort.

There’s multiple inputs, letting you play a game on one side and YouTube on the other to let you watch guides while you play. Gamers also have the option to shrink the on-screen display down to 27” or 32” depending on what you’re playing.

The LG OLED Flex LX3 comes with built-in microphone and front-firing 40W speakers and Dolby Atmos support if you want to watch movies – or just experience great in-game sound.

There’s a USB hub built-in to the display which can support headsets, keyboards and mice, with connection to a PC via HDMI.

Toi complete the gamer aesthetic there’s also a customisable lighting feature on the rear that can synchronise with video or audio playing on the screen, with five different modes to choose from.

There’s no pricing or availability for the new LG OLED Flex LX3, but it will be on display at IFA in Berlin when it opens later this week.
