JBL has a great name in home and portable audio and have unveiled a new range of Soundbars for your home with Dolby Atmos support, and a new set of eco-friendly portable bluetooth speakers.

JBL BAR – Soundbars

JBL have unveiled their new range of soundbars overnight, with four new models offering Dolby Atmos support for superior sound.

There are four models in the line-up including the 300, 500, 800 and 1000, offering varying levels for your home. The JBL Bar 800 and 1000 include detachable rear speakers with built-in batteries and provide true Dolby Atmos support, while the JBL Bar 300 and 500 offer virtual Dolby Atmos support.

The flagship is the JBL Bar 1000, which is a 7.1.4 channel surround sound system with up to 880W of power output, while the JBL Bar 800 will offer 5.1.2 channel surround sound at 720W. The detachable rear speakers on both soundbars lay flat on a shelf behind you and provide upfiring speakers for Dolby Atmos 3D surround sound. They recharge by connecting to the main bar, but can also be charged by a separate charger if you don’t want to do that.

JBL Bar 1000

The JBL Bar 300 and Bar 500 will use MultiBeam with virtual Dolby Atmos support, with the Bar 300 offering 5.0 channel sound with built-in subwoofer, while the Bar 500 will offer 5.1 channel surround sound, joining the Bar 800 and Bar 1000 offering a 10” subwoofer.

The JBL Bar series will offer Siri, Alexa and Google Assistant support, as well as supporting AirPlay 2, Alexa MRM and Chromecast built-in so you can stream your favourite music services through them.

JBL will offer their new  One App available on Google Play and iOS App Store to let you easily setup your new soundbar and add those streaming services, as well as customise the EQ for a personalised playback experience.

JBL has announced the JBL Bar 300 and 500 will be available in Europe from the 1st of September for €399 and €649 respectively, while the JBL Bar 800 and 1000 will hit Europe from mid-October from €899 and €1,149 respectively – and of course we’ll update as soon as we get Australian launch details.

JBL Eco-Friendly Portable Audio

As most companies these days are doing, JBL is offering more eco-friendly options, including in their portable audio range which includes eco-friendly versions of the JBL Go 3  and JBL Clip 4.

The new eco-friendly versions of these speakers will bolster JBL’s aim to reduce waste with both models constructed with 90% PCR (post-consumer recycled) plastic for the main body, as well as 100% recycled fabric on their speaker grilles.

The speakers will be packaged in an eco-friendly way with JBL announcing they’re the most sustainable packaging yet.

To refresh the specs, both speakers support Bluetooth 5.1 with the JBL Go 3 Eco offering up to five hours on a charge, and is water and dustproof with an IP67 rating, with JBL Pro Sound. The JBL Clip 4 Eco offers a larger profile, longer battery life and bigger sound with up to 10 hours of playback. It also includes the integrated clip to hook onto a backpack or bike so you can take it anywhere.

JBL has announced the JBL Go 3 Eco and JBL Clip 4 Eco will be available in three colour options: Forest Green, Ocean Blue and Cloud White from December 2022 in Europe for €39,99 and €59,99 respectively. We’ll have more details on Australian availability soon.
