Samsung’s massive curved Odyssey Ark 55 lands in Australia on October 24th

Samsung have announced that their world’s first 55-inch 1000R curved gaming screen, the Odyssey Ark 55 gaming monitor will land in Australia on October 24th.

Those interested in grabbing themselves one of these massive new monitors, the Odyssey Ark 55 is now available to pre-order for $4,499 – but this being Samsung, there’s some excellent pre-order bonuses up for grabs.

Anyone pre-ordering the Odyssey Ark between now and October 23rd will receive a Secretlab TITAN Evo 2022 chair with a limited edition Odyssey Magnetic Head Pillow (valued at $759), as well as a Samsung 980 PRO NVMe SSD1TB (valued at $235). Anyone pre-ordering the monitor through Harvey Norman will receive a $1,000 Harvey Norman gift card to redeem in store.

If you haven’t seen the Odyssey Ark 55 curved gaming monitor, it’s a site to behold. Featuring a curvature of 1000R, meaning you get more display in your line of site – the 55” monitor uses Samsung Quantum Mini LEDs for an increased range of black and supports  up to 3840×2160 resolution with a 165Hz refresh rate and 1ms GtG response time with AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support.  The monitor also includes four speakers, one at each corner, and two central woofers built-in for excellent sound.

The Odyssey Ark 55 comes with a neat party trick of ‘Cockpit Mode’which rotates the monitor on its Height Adjustable Stand to stand vertically when required. You can split the display into stacked 27” displays – or just enjoy it as one big display.

Like the Samsung M8 smart monitor which Trevor just checked out, the Odyssey Ark 55 can use built-in Wifi to turn into a Smart TV, with access to popular streaming apps, and Samsung’s TV Plus live content.

Phil Gaut, Senior Director – Display & Brand Memory, Samsung Australia said of the Odyssey Ark 55

“We are excited to bring this unique screen to our shores to give local gamers access to a new standard of immersive gaming and a winning edge every time they play. The Odyssey Ark brings together cinematic picture quality, immersive surround sound, and an incredibly flexible interface that enables gamers to compete, socialise, and multi-task during game play without missing a beat. When it’s time to hang up their headphones, gamers have access to a premium Smart TV entertainment and lifestyle experience all in one epic monitor.”

You can pre-order the Samsung Odyssey Ark 55 from the Samsung Online Store or through Harvey Norman.
