BOOST adds international roaming for less than $3 a day!

International Roaming options just got interesting with Boost Mobile adding an International roaming add-on pack that might just challenge the big guys.

Available in 40 countries, the idea is simple, pick a pack, bolt it onto your Boost Mobile service and you’re off and running.

The headline act, the biggest plan, offers 5Gb of data, over 14 days, with 60 minutes of calls and 60 text messages – all for $40. That works out at less than $3 a day.

There are cheaper plans with a shorter duration and less inclusions but that $40 offer seems spot on.

Boost marketing this at “less than $3 a day” is aimed fair and square toward Vodafone’s $5 a day plans which dominate this market, with Boost’s advantage being they are prepaid so the switch is easy and the commitment is low, you could literally switch carriers just for your holidays. Boost of course hoping people will love it, and even when home stick with Boost.

While many of us might chew through data working and travelling, the average user on holidays is likely to use their phone a bit less than at home, and also be connected or aware of public wifi more often at cafe’s and their hotel. As such, 5Gb isn’t too bad for a two week trip.

Boost’s Jason Haynes says “Australians have an insatiable thirst to travel, which is only exacerbated more by the restrictions and challenges of the last two and a half years. But travel is increasingly costing more than it used to, and so we are thrilled to be delivering such an affordable and compelling option for all Australians,”

“For less than three dollars a day you can stay connected while traveling to over 40 different countries, sharing adventures with friends and family, be it through social media or calls and texts. We always fight for our customers so it is a natural progression to make sure we can give them the best deals when they are away from home, all without the fear of bill shock.”

Notifications of data usage are sent at 50%, 85% and 100% of use, allowing you the ability to manage your use, and also bolt on another pack if you are using more than you’d hoped.
