TCL announce new tablet range with NXTPaper Pro 12, TAB 8 LE and their first ever 2-in-1 detachable laptop

The TCL announcements started with phones, but TCL have larger aspirations with their tablet range announcing the new NXTPAPER 12 Pro, TAB 8 LE and their first ever 2-in-1 detachable laptop, the TCL BOOK X12 Go.

NXTPAPER 12 Pro

The NXTPAPER 12 Pro includes a 12.2-inch 2K resolution NXTPAPER display, a paper-like display that is easy to read and provides a high-quality experience while also being easy on the eye. The NXTPAPER displays are as bright as regular tablets – 100% more than the last – while also protecting you from eye-strain.

The NXTPAPER 12 Pro is light and easy to hold whether it’s watching it on your morning commute on the train, or on a longer flight. The display is in 3:2 aspect ratio to provide up to 18.5% more content than a 16:9 aspect ratio display.

The tablet will run Android and includes support for the TCL E-Pen so you can take notes, sketch or highlight screenshots – all with paper-like smoothness thanks to the pen supporting up to 8,192 pressure levels.

The tablet includes an 8,000mAh battery for all-day use, though you can also use it for reverse charging other devices to top up your smartphone and more while you’re on the go.

The TCL NXTPAPER 12 Pro will be priced starting from USD $499 (around $740 AUD), while a 5G enabled version will be coming later this year for $549 (around $810 AUD).

TCL BOOK X12 Go

The TCL Book X12 Go will also have the same 12.2-inch NXTPAPER display with 2160 x 1440 resolution, including the same anti-fingerprint glass which includes a nano-chemical coating to create a smooth, durable feel that the TCL E-Pen will glide across.

The TCL Book X12 Go will use Windows 11 Home, with access to all your favourite apps and is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Octa-core Snapdragon 7c Gen 2 processor with multiple configs offered including 4GB+128GB or 8GB+256GB with a 30Wh battery included capable of battery life up to 14 hours.

The convertible, which will ship in Navy Blue with stand case and E-Pen and will include a front-facing 5MP camera, while a rear-facing 8MP camera will also be on-board.

The TCL BOOK X12 Go will go on sale later this year, with global pricing to be announced closer to launch date.

TCL TAB 8 LE

The last tablet on the list is TCL TAB 8 LE, described as ‘the perfect ultra-compact tablet for staying connected at home and on the go’.

The 8-inch tablet is portable with a featherweight design, which can fit into a large pocket or a small bag. The 8-inch display has a HD resolution and is powered by a quad-core processor and includes LTE connectivity and an all-day 4080mAh battery.

The tablet includes 5MP front and rear cameras for snapping shots as needed, or taking part in a video call. There’s dual stereo speakers built-in to deliver immersive sound whether it’s on those conference calls, or catching up on some videos.

The tablet will come with 32GB of on-board storage which can be expanded thanks to the microSD card slot which can take cards up to 512GB in size.

The TCL Tab 8 LE will be available soon for USD $159 (around $235 AUD).
