Lenovo unveils Legion Go handheld gaming device alongside Legion Glasses

At IFA, Lenovo has announced their latest mobile devices including their first handheld gaming device, the Lenovo Legion Go, as well as their new Lenovo Legion Glasses.

Lenovo Legion Go

Like the ASUS ROG ALLY recently launched, the Lenovo Legion Go will run Windows 11 Home allowing gamers to install apps, games and multiple game stores including Steam, Epic and more. The announcement also highlights the compatibility with Xbox Game Pass including a complimentary 3-month membership. 

These software experience will be enhanced with the Lenovo ‘Legion Space’ a hub allowing you to quickly jump into your favourite game. 

On the hardware side, the Lenovo Legion Go includes a 8.8-inch QHD+ (2560 x 1600) resolution PureSight IPS Gaming Display with 10-point touch support. It’s running up to an AMD Ryzen Z1 processor with AMD RDNA Graphics and 16GB DDR5 RAM on-board. Storage wise there will be models with 256GB, 512GB and 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2. 

The Legion Go includes 49.2Wh with Super Rapid Charge support, allowing the battery to recharge up to 70% in just half an hour. There’s also a bypass to protect the battery if you want to game while plugged in.

Attached to the display are the Legion TrueStrike controllers with hall effect compatible joysticks ensuring no drift. There’s also an integrated trackpad, a large D-pad, an angled mouse wheel and a total of 10 mappable shoulder buttons, triggers, and grip buttons. The controllers also detach to allow for more flexible play styles. 

There’s also something called ‘FPS mode’ which lets you mount the right controller in a controller base using magnets, with the optical sensor on the base turns it into something similar to a mouse. 

Lenovo Legion Glasses

One of the use cases for the detachable handsets is for use with the Lenovo Legion Glasses. The glasses offer the option for big-screen gaming on the go by connecting any compatible Android, Windows or macOS device via USB-C 

The Lenovo Legion Glasses will include dual Micro OLED displays with 1920×1080 resolution per eye with a 60Hz refresh rate. The displays will deliver ‘high colour and contrast range’ says Lenovo. As well as the high-resolution display, the glasses will include high-fidelity speakers. 

Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones

Last but not least is the Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones, with distortion free sound from the 10mm armature drivers. The headphones include driverless 7.1 surround sound, so you can really hear where your enemies are coming from. 

There’s an in-line controller for adjusting controls quickly, which is illuminated by an RGB strip. 

Availability

The Lenovo Legion Go is expected to be available in Australia in late October 2023 starting at $1399.

At this stage we’re still waiting for local pricing and availability info on the Lenovo Legion Glasses and Legion E510 7.1 RGB Gaming In-Ear Headphones but we’ll update when that’s announced.
