Pizza Hut hit by Cyber Attack – Names, Addresses and Contact info obtained by hackers

One year to the day since the Optus Cyber attack and Australians who love Pizza might just be victims once again, with Pizza Hut contacting customers about a Cyber Security Incident.

The company reports that in the last few weeks it became aware of an incident where an “unauthorised third party” accessed “some of the company’s data”.

It appears at this stage the hackers access customer records, and online order transactions – so – they know what pizza you like folks.

Customer records include you name, delivery address, email address and contact number – however Pizza Hut say that any credit card details or passwords are unusable by the hackers due to how they were masked in the system.

What they do also have are any delivery instructions, and while it may only be a small number of people – anyone with things like gate codes or door codes should be aware that those kinds of instructions for your Pizza Hut driver are now in the hands of hackers.

EFTM has not been able to contact Pizza Hut, so we’re unsure at this time how many Australians are victims of this cyber attack.

Perhaps use the phone and call your local pizza place for the next take out order.
