After unveiling their consumer range at CES yesterday, ACER is back with more, announcing their Predator gaming series devices for 2025 using the latest from Intel and NVIDIA.
The announcements include the Predator Helios 16 and Predator Helios, as well as the all-new Predator Helios Neo 16S AI laptop – and for desktop gamers, there’s also the Predator XB323QX gaming monitor.
The 2025 ACER Predator Helios will come in 16” and 18” models, with the new Arrow Lake processors inside offering on-board AI and advanced gaming from the new NVIDIA RTX 50 series laptop GPUs.
The laptops will include up to Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX. This new processor will be cooled by the 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D fan technology inside, which ACER says has ‘the world’s thinnest cooling fan blades at just 0.05 mm’.
The Predator Helios 16 AI offering options between the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 or 5070TI laptop gpu, while the Predator Helios 18 AI will have options for the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5080 or 5090 laptop gpus.
The Helios 16 AI will come with a 2K resolution OLED panel which has an impressive 240Hz refresh rate, while the Helios 18 AI will have a 4K resolution Mini LED display that offers 120Hz refresh rate – though it can drop down to 1080P resolution to jump to 240Hz when required. Both the Helios models will support NVIDIA G-Sync for stutter free gaming.
On the audio front, both units include DTS X: Ultra tuned audio, with the Helios 16 AI offering four speakers, while the Helios 18 AI includes six.
The Helios 16 AI will have options for up to 64GB RAM with up to a 4TB Gen 5 SSD, while the Helios 18 AI will offer up to 192GB of RAM (insane, but I want it) and 6TB of storage in a Gen 5 SSD.
An interesting feature is the per-key RGB keyboard features swappable mechanical switches for the WASD and Arrow keys, letting you improve your signal accuracy – though each key has just 0.3mm of travel.
Both units include Wi-Fi 7, with Thunderbolt 5 (Type-C) and ethernet ports included.
In terms of pricing and availability, the Predator Helios 18 AI (PH18-73) will arrive in Australia in April, while the Helios 16 AI (PH16-73) will be available in Australia in June – pricing for both machines is still To Be Advised.
With a slimmer form-factor, the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI also runs the latest Intel and NVIDIA silicon, with an Intel Core Ultra 9 processor 275HX and NVIDIA RTX 5070Ti laptop GPU powering the show.
The laptop comes with up to 32GB RAM and 2TB of storage, with a 16” 2K OLED display offering excellent gaming performance with 240Hz refresh rate and 1ms response.
The Predator Helios Neo 16S AI also includes DTS X: Ultra tuned audio, though with only two speakers.
A 76WHr battery should keep you running all-day, but once you start gaming with that high-end RTX 5070Ti GPU you might want to plug in first.
As with the other Helios models, there’s no price for the Predator Helios Neo 16S AI (PHN16S-71) bit it will land in Australia in April.
ACER has also announced a new 32” gaming monitor, the Predator XB323QX.
Measuring in at 31.5”, the monitor has a 5K resolution at 144Hz – though retains the option to drop down to 2K resolution and run at a super-fast 288Hz.
The XB323QX – that rolls off the tongue – supports 1,000:1 contrast ratio, with 350nits brightness and offers true 10-bit colour depth and offers 95% DCI-P3 coverage and 99% sRGB colour gamut support.
You can connect to your PC with DisplayPort 1.4 connector, as well as dual HDMI 2.1 ports.
At this stage, ACER Australia hasn’t announced local pricing or availability for the Predator Helios XB323QX but we’ll update if they do.
