The dual 24” workstation that fits in your luggage from Base Case

Working on the move is often hampered by the simple reduction in productivity by not having a multiple monitors you might have at home or in the office. The Base Case is about to blow your mind and perhaps cause some questions about what you might be up to. This isn’t just another portable monitor, we’ve seen those it’s an entire workspace built into what looks like a regular piece of luggage.

This is not a light piece of kit to carry around mind you, weighing approximately 9kg but before writing this off, remember you’re getting TWO 24-inch full HD displays. With its luggage style wheels and trolley handle, you’re unlikely to be lifting this much anyway.

Seeing this come to life was very satisfying as the case latches open. Inside, the dual 24 inch screens deploy with a telescoping leg system that’s actually quite clever and minimises those uncomfortable differences in height, ensuring the screens sit at eye level.

The Base Case comes with the full array of connectivity options here: HDMI, DisplayPort, USB-C Thunderbolt, regular USB-C, USB-A, and even Ethernet. The best part? All the cables are built-in and managed internally. Simply open up the case, plug in your laptop and you’re off.

The screens are no slouch when looking at their specs – 1920×1080 resolution, 350 nits brightness, and a 75Hz refresh rate. Before you come at me, no these aren’t the most amazing displays you’ll find but that’s not what the Base Case is about, it’s about getting work done on the go and for that, I think they could be on to a winner.

I doubt this will be cheap when it’s launched via Crowdfunding site Indiegogo sometime this year.
