Sennheiser release the HD 505, once again straddling the audiophile and mass-market fence

Sennheiser has announced their new audiophile headphones, the Sennheiser HD 505, ideal for listeners looking to deliver a new level of performance to their listening experience.

The HD 505 brings the usual Sennheiser analytical tuning, exceptional comfort and a high-end listening experience to all listening setups and gaming sessions, all in a stylish-looking package.

“The HD 505 is for anyone ready to experience the audio awakening a great set of Sennheiser headphones is known for,” said Klaus Hanselmann, Sennheiser Audiophile Product Manager. “There is something truly special in here that puts serious listening within arm’s reach of the emerging audiophile or gamer.”

The Sennheiser HD 505 sports a custom 120-ohm transducer in an open earcup with a large frequency response from 12 to 38,500 Hz with a total harmonic distortion of under 0.2%.  The transducers are angled to replicate the positioning of nearfield speakers from a true soundstage experience. These features ensure the accurate reproduction of your music/audio.

The balanced sound signature we expect from Sennheiser is present, with punchy bass and accurate sounds across the entire frequency range, creating an audiophile experience for the user.

The HD 505 is designed for long listening sessions. It weighs 237 grams and has a synthetic leather headband that is as comfortable to enable these long sessions. The sturdy metal mesh earcups provide a long-lasting audiophile experience.

They come with a 1.8-meter cable with a 3.5-mm plug and a 6.3-mm adapter for connecting to a wide range of audiophile sources.

The Sennheiser HD 505 is available now from Amazon.com.au with an MSRP of AU9.95 and NZ9.95.
