Razer launches new Kishi V3 series game controllers with TMR Thumbsticks

It’s been a few years since Razer launched the Kishi V2, and while the Ultra landed last year, it’s time to update and today Razer have announced the Kishi V3 series.

The Razer Kishi V3 is a full-sized USB-C controller you can fit your phone, or tablet into with offset thumbsticks, D-Pad and ABXY buttons, and gives you wired, and remote play gaming.

The series is launching in three sizes – Razer Kishi V3, Kishi V3 Pro and Kishi V3 Pro XL – and gives you a range of options to game using local games from the Apple app store, or Google Play, as well as the option to stream games to your phone or tablet from GamePass, Geforce Now and more.

The Razer Kishi V3 is aimed at phones, with the controller optimised for both Android and iOS 15/16 devices. The Kishi V3 Pro is aimed at phones as well as smaller form-factor tablets up to 8” in size like the iPad Mini. Lastly, the Kishi V3 Pro XL is an option for anyone wanting to game on larger devices, with support for tablets up to 13” in size.

The Kishi V3 series brings a number of upgrades including TMR (Tunneling Magnetoresistance) thumbsticks, a feature normally found on console gaming controllers. These thumbsticks offer a little more accuracy than Hall Effect sticks we’ve previously seen on console controllers and even reduce the risk of drift. Razer has also including swappable caps so you can find your perfect fit.

The controller also includes Razer Sensa HD haptics on devices running Windows 11 or Android 12 and up, offering next-gen tactile feedback. There’s also dual mouse-click back buttons on board and claw-grip bumpers for more natural and efficient gameplay.

The controller is very comfortable to hold and you will lose track of time playing games – luckily the Kishi V3 series supports USB-C passthrough for charging and also includes a 3.5mm audio jack for your headphones.

Apple Arcade

The launch of the Kishi V3 will also include a bonus for Apple owners, with up to 6 months of Apple Arcade included, giving them access to over 200 games through the app store – all without ads or in-app purchases.

Razer will include 3 months of Apple Arcade access, for the Kishi V3 and V3 Pro, while the V3 Pro XL will get 6 months of Apple Arcade – normally .99 AUD per month.
