Shokz, the world leader in bone conduction headphones, has today announced the availability of two new innovative headphones, the OpenDots One and the OpenFit 2+.
The new headphones are designed with open ear awareness in mind. I’ve been using them for the last week or so and have been impressed with them. Head on over here to see my thoughts after short-term use.
The OpenDots One is Shokz’s first foray into the ear-clip design headphones, offering wearers the alertness and awareness of an open ear design in a lightweight and compact design.
The new OpenDots One are designed to be easy to wear, with comfort a major contributing factor in the design process. The left and right earbuds are interchangeable, allowing you to quickly and easily insert and remove them when using.
The clip design on the OpenDots One is flexible thanks to Shokz’s new JointArc technology, where the speakers and battery compartment connect, allowing them to fit any ear size or shape.
There are two 11.8mm drivers that deliver deep bass and clear highs, providing a high-quality sound. The case is compact and provides an extra 40 hours of playback to the earbuds, which already can deliver 10 hours of playback on a single charge. The case also supports wireless charging.
The OpenDots One are designed for everyday use, when going about your everyday activities, rather than sport specifically.
The Shokz OpenDots One are available from July 3 in black and grey colours at Shokz.com.au, Amazon AU and JB Hi-Fi for $339. Additional retailers such as Harvey Norman will stock them from July 31.
The Shokz OpenFit 2+ are the flagship version of the OpenFit 2, announced at CES this year. They feature upgraded audio with two new drivers, new Dolby Audio enhancements and an extended battery life of up to 48 hours.
The OpenFit 2+ includes DualBoost technology with the two drivers as mentioned above, one delivering low-frequency bass and other independently delivering high-frequency sound for a “vibrant, dynamic sound.”
The open-ear design enables the wearer to remain aware of their surroundings, wherever they are, while also allowing them to tune in to the media playing through the headphones.
The headphones deliver 11 hours of battery life on a single charge, with the wireless-charging supporting case providing an additional 48 hours of power. The OpenFit 2+ are designed not just for everyday use but also for those intense gym sessions thanks to the IP55 water resistance.
The Shokz OpenFit 2+ is available from July 3 from Shokz.com.au, Amazon AU and JB Hi-Fi for $339. Additional retailers such as Harvey Norman will stock them from July 31.
