Sennheiser introduces wireless audiophile sound with the HDB 630 — on any source thanks to the included USB-C transmitter

Sennheiser has announced the new HDB 630, an audiophile-quality headphone featuring Bluetooth connectivity for those on the go.

The new HDB 630 are housed in a body directly descended from the best-selling MOMENTUM 4 with the same much-loved ergonomics but improved overall with a customised acoustic system.  Made at the dedicated Tullamore production facility in Ireland, the 42mm dynamic transducers are designed for pure sound, agile enough to cover the entire audio spectrum effortlessly and accurately.

“We set out to deliver a compelling option for audiophiles who want to keep the same level of quality they’re used to with their wired headphones while enabling them to enjoy it everywhere,” said Wee Hong Kuan, Senior Product Manager, “and out of the box, the HDB 630 brings a truly unique combination of fidelity and customisation.”

The 42mm drivers are world-class and are powered by a high-resolution digital audio engine that can be used either wirelessly or via a wired connection.  Wired listening is possible through either the USB-C port or the analogue headphone cable with native support for up to 24-bit, 96kHz audio resolution.

Wirelessly, the HDB 630 supports Bluetooth 5.2 and the aptX Adaptive codec for high-quality wireless sound.  For those with smartphones or tablets who do not support aptX Adaptive, Sennheiser has included a USB-C dongle to add this support to their devices.  With only approximately 16% of smartphones having artphone hardware supporting high-res sound, this USB-C dongle allows you to get the most out of these headphones as long as the smartphone has a USB-C port.

To help achieve the audiophile-quality sound and to customise it to your preferences, Sennheiser has included a series of sound-shaping tools within the Smart Control Plus app, including:

  • Change the Crossfeed to blend left and right channels
  • Parametric Equaliser to boost or cut frequencies beyond those offered by a more traditional graphic EQ interface.  The settings are then applied to the headphone’s advanced processing system.
  • Customise intelligent features like noise cancellation, on-head detection, codec preference, and more.

For those undertaking long flights, you can rest assured that the Sennheiser HDB 630 will last thanks to a 60-hour battery life.  A quick charge of just 10 minutes will provide another seven minutes of play.

The Sennheiser HDB 630 are a sealed design that offers ANC and integrated microphones to handle calls.  Your ears will be comfortable thanks to the Japanese Protein Leatherette ear cushions from IDEATEX.  The right earcup features a touch panel that allows you to control your music experience with a simple tap or swipe.

The HDB 630 ships with a protective travel case, a USB Type-C charging cable, a 3.5 mm analog audio cable, an airline adapter, and a USB Type-C Bluetooth transmitter.

Pricing and availability

The Sennheiser HDB 630 will be available to pre-order or purchase in Australia from Tuesday, 21 October 2025, at an MSRP of 9 AUD. Customers can order via Sennheiser’s official online store, sennheiser-hearing.com/en-AU/, and through leading national retailers including JB Hi-Fi, Amazon, Harvey Norman, and select independent audio specialists.
