IKEA and Xbox Partner on New XSTABY Gaming Line coming to stores in October

IKEA and XBOX are teaming up for a new gaming-inspired collection coming to stores later this year.

The exclusive collaboration has been announced as the XSTABY collection, and will include nine pieces designed by IKEA and XBOX. A designer from each team worked together on every item in the collection, with every piece designed with the needs of both players and the people who share their space.

Ainslie Woodham, Country Home Furnishing and Interior Design Leader, IKEA Australia and New Zealand said

“Gaming isn’t just what you do. It’s how you live. For Australians and New Zealanders, gaming is connection. It’s creativity. It’s how you unwind after a long day. The YXSTABY collection gets that. We’ve built it for real gaming setups, whether that’s a dedicated room, a corner of your bedroom, or a shared living space that needs to work harder. Ergonomic. Adaptable. Space-smart. Every piece is designed so you can build the setup that fits your life, not squeeze your life into a setup.”

The range includes a new chair, designed to fit in any living room, or where you play, and supports different positions as well as moods of play. The chair also has options for storing gear when not in use.

There’s also a TV Stand. Available in both Black and White, the stand comes on castors and can roll out of the way whenever you finish playing. The stand includes storage for gear at the back, so everything remains in one place, ready to go.

For those wanting to hide their peripherals in a classic looking side-table, the new side table will solve the small, familiar challenge of hiding things in plain-sight.

The Side-table sits on castors, and can roll into place wherever you need. The unit includes sliding doors that can store and charge your gear that isn’t the arm of the sofa or sitting on the entertainment unit.

While the majority of console play is in the living room on a TV, there’s also play on PC monitors and the new Monitor Stand.

The monitor stand can raise up either one or two displays (depending on size) to a more ergonomically friendly height, and includes storage for your phone, headphones or controller.

The XSTABY collection Toolbox is a versatile piece of storage, even doubling as a stand.

The Toolbox includes a soft-touch base to protect your devices, with a cover that can close, keeping its contents hidden and looking more tidy. The toolbox doubles as a laptop stand,  letting you play in places like the dining table, with the ability to quickly return it to that condition when you finish.

At the centre of some pieces in the collection is the XBOX controller. For the XSTABY collection, the D-Pad specifically inspired both a cushion and a

decorative platter in shiny stainless steel.

Further inspiring the collection, the XBOX Controller also was the source for the thumbstick stool.

The stool used the original 3D design files from the controller, and includes a textured edge around the seat to help keep a person in place just as it keeps a thumb from slipping. It comes in both Black and Green, to give you some options when styling your gaming area.

Lastly, there’s the mirrored display box.

Designed with a mirror in the rear, the display box can showcase your controllers, figurines or other collectibles in a box designed to really show them off.

This isn’t the first time that IKEA has dabbled with gaming collaborations, previously teaming up with ASUS for an ROG inspired line of gaming products. That collaboration has slowly died off, with the new Xbox and IKEA collaboration launching around the globe, including in Australia, online and in-store on October 1st.
