Kicking off Computex, ASUS have announced a new version of the ROG Xbox ALLY, with a new OLED powered ROG Xbox ALLY X20.

The X20 name has been selected to celebrate 20 years of ASUS’ ROG (Republic of Gamers) sub-brand and introduces a 1080p resolution 7.4” OLED display, stepping up from the IPS LCD in the ROG Xbox ALLY.

The new OLED display is capable of 120Hz refresh, with up to 1,400 Nits of brightness – giving more versatility in where you can use it.

ASUS has also updated the controls, with the ROG Xbox ALLY X20 now using TMR Joystick, as well as a new D-Pad which can transform, with up to 8-way control and refined buttons that sit flush with the chassis.

Under the hood, the same AMD Z2 Extreme chip with 24GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of PCIe 4.0 storage will be running the show – with Windows 11 and Microsoft’s Xbox Full-screen experience.

ASUS will also be bundling a pair of their ROG Xreal R1 Edition 20 gaming AR glasses with the unit. These glasses will deliver a virtual 171” display in the lens set at a distance of 4 meters and coming with a 240Hz refresh rate.

The glasses will connect to the ROG Xbox ALLY X20 through a USB-C cable, and include head tracking with native 3DoF

At this stage there’s price or release date but we’ll see more as ASUS approach launch.
