At IFA, ACER have unveiled their latest Predator gaming devices including the new Predator Atlas 7, and the new Project DualPlay Mini handheld concept.
The Atlas 7 will offer a more compact form-factor to the Atlas 8 announced earlier this year with a FHD 7-inch IPS-level touchscreen capable of 120 Hz refresh, 500 nits of peak brightness and with Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) support.
ACER will be offering multiple skus with up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and up to Intel Arc B390 graphics on-board using a high-powered dual-fan cooling system with an 89 blade metal Predator AeroBlade fan and Vortex Flow tuning to direct air-flow. On-board you’ll find up to 24GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 1 TB of M.2 Gen4 SSD storage, with a UHS-II microSD also on-board to expand storage.
The hand-held will have a ‘distinct design’ which includes contoured grips and larger palm rest area with recessed keys, and it has an anti-slip texture which ACER says will help players maintain better grip on longer sessions.
Featuring Hall-effect analog triggers, the Atlas 7 will include options for TMR (tunneling magnetoresistance) thumbsticks giving players better options for avoiding stick-drift and dead zones, as well as being more accurate overall.
Dual USB-C Thunderbolt 4 ports will give players the option to charge as well as connect accessories, with Bluetooth 5.4 and Wi-Fi 7 wireless connectivity to keep you connected.
Dual 2-watt speakers on-board include DTS Virtual:X Ultra tuning and Hi-Res Audio support, while dual on-board microphones come with Acer PurifiedVoice using AI noise reduction to ensure your voice comes through clearly in chat.
No pricing has been announced for the Predator Atlas 7, but ACER did hint at availability saying it will be hitting North America from Q4 2026 and in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa from November 2026.
No mention was made of Australia for the Predator Atlas 7, however they previously announced the Predator Atlas 8 will be available in Australia from October 2026.
With handhelds fast growing in popularity as mobile gaming power increases, the Predator DualPlay Mini project is a re-imagining of what the handheld gaming form-factor can possibly be.
Launched as a concept, Project DualPlay Mini is a 2-in-1 design, with a ‘flip-and-swivel design’ which includes a backlit keyboard which remains hidden, and an 8” display that can flip when you need it to. The flippable design enables a dual-mode format that switches from a handheld gaming device into a mini-laptop.
Exact specs haven’t been released, but the concept device is powered by Intel Arc G-Series processors, and it uses the same dual-fan cooling system as the Atlas gaming handhelds with a Predator AeroBlade metal fan paired with a plastic fan to direct airflow.
Project DualPlay Mini is a concept only, but if it gets enough buzz, who knows what we’ll see at CES.
