DJI Osmo 360 II Debuts with 8K 60fps Video and Replaceable Lenses

Alongside their latest ROMO 2 robot vacuum, DJI have hit the ground at IFA running announcing their Osmo 360 II 360-degree 8K camera. 

The followup to DJI’s OSMO 360 released last year, the DJI Osmo 360 II looks unassumingly the same. It still weighs in at just 183 grams and has what appears to be the same waterproof casing, 105GB of storage and microSD card slot. 

Where it starts to get different is under the hood, starting with dual 1-inch square sensors featuring 2.4 μm pixels for capturing more light, offering improved low-light performance. The industry-first square sensors include HDR support and offer 14.5 stops of dynamic range, increasing brightness. 

The sensors capture at higher frame rates, capturing 8K panoramic footage at 60fps in 360° video. There’s also the option to capture slow-motion panoramic video at 240fps in 4K, and 16K resolution 360° Timelapse videos. 

While video is a big upgrade on the OSMO 360 II, the camera can also offer still shot photos utilising both sensors for a 2:1 aspect ratio 120 MP shot, or a 4:3 single-lens shot at just over 30MP. 

The Osmo 360 II also comes with a new, interesting feature: replaceable lenses. The camera includes lenses with an ultra-hard optical film for improved scratch and wear resistance. If you happen to scratch or damage a lens, you can just swap it out for a new one. 

Despite looking the same, DJI has managed to pack a larger 2150 mAh battery inside, which they say can record continuously for 100 minutes at 8K/30 fps resolution. The battery can also be fast-charged to 80% capacity in just 22 minutes.

The camera also now comes with NFC Quick Connect for faster,, easier pairing to your phone to the DJI Mimo app for live HD video feeds and more. 

The camera also integrates with DJI’s OsmoAudio Direct Microphone Connection which will easily connect with their array of wireless microphones.

You’ll be able to get your hands on the DJI Osmo 360 II later this month in Australia, with the standard combo priced at $899 AUD, or $1,079 in their adventure combo which includes 2 Extreme Battery Plus batteries, 1.2m Invisible Selfie Stick, Multifunctional Battery Case ‘and more’. 

DJI has also announced you’ll be able to buy replacement lenses straight away, as well as a battery extension rod, and clamp kit.
