DoorDash is expanding their presence in Australian retail at a rapid pace, announcing you can now order products from Big W stores for delivery.
The partnership will see DoorDash offering delivery in as little as an hour from over 156 stores across Australia, following a successful 10-store pilot launched on September 30.
As part of the new arrangement, DoorDash will be able to deliver over 35,000 products from the Big W range, including items from fashion, beauty, tech and homewares, to more seasonal offerings including Halloween costumes, Christmas gifts and decorations, as well as all your everyday pet necessities and more.
Deliveries will be available during store trading hours, with the majority of the 156 Big W stores open 8am–7pm, giving customers a broad window for getting what they need.
The announcement sees BIG W become the first discount department store in Australia to offer ultra-convenience for customers via on-demand delivery through DoorDash, though fast, on-demand delivery is expanding with Target and Uber Eats announced their partnership just last week.
The announcement comes ahead of a busy shopping season, with Black Friday and of course Christmas shopping now looming on the horizon. This new option will give you a chance to get what you need, without battling the crowds.
Director of BIG W X, Jo Hicks said:
“We know family life is chaotic and that our customers are looking for ways to ease the pressure when time isn’t on their side. By partnering with DoorDash we’re helping make shopping with us even more convenient, whether that means getting an emergency activity to keep the kids busy, a set of glasses right before extra guests arrive, a last minute gift or a new outfit, customers can get what they need delivered in as fast as an hour without leaving home.”
The new service won’t interrupt existing convenience offers from Big W which already offers free Pick Up from all Stores, free Metro Delivery on all orders over , and free Direct to Boot pick up available at select stores.
Big W is kicking off the launch with a bang, offering customers 30% off through the DoorDash app if they spend more than – just use the code BIGWDEBUT.
Not a bad way to go, and with more options, Christmas shopping this year will be a breeze.
