From Budget TVs to Smart Living: Hisense Marks Two Decades Down Under

Consumer electronics and smart home appliance maker Hisense has hit a significant milestone, celebrating 20 years in Australia.

Starting with TVs back in 2006, HiSense has grown to offer a full suite of appliances and devices across the home, recently moving into personal audio with their HiClips earbuds.

Kevin Ke, Managing Director, Hisense Australia and New Zealand said

“Celebrating 20 years in Australia is an outstanding achievement for our team and a testament to the colleagues, retailer partners and customers who have been part of this journey. Since our launch in Australia in 2006, Hisense has grown into one of Australia’s leading consumer electronics and home appliance brands. We remain committed to delivering industry-leading products made for real life, simplifying everyday routines and helping households focus on the moments that matter.”

The future of Hisense appliances is in ConnectLife, a smart platform connecting their home appliances. Launching in 2024 in Australia, Hisense’s Connectlife platform has continued to grow, incorporating new features and technology including support for Matter.

Recently showing off their upcoming range at IFA in Berlin, Connectlife brings it all together, with appliances working in sync to make your life easier – including  scheduling the washing machine or dishwasher to run during off-peak hours and getting a notification when it’s complete, or turning on the air conditioning before you get home. Connectlife can even check what’s in your fridge, and how cold it is so you can organise dinner before you get home.

Mr Ke said

“People are living with smart technology but still doing everyday life the hard way. With ConnectLife Australians can discover how everyday tasks can be made simpler. Smart Assist can select the right wash and dry cycle for a chosen fabric; while Meal Planner and Dish Designer can turn ingredients into inspiration. You can also remotely control your air conditioner and more. These are practical features that can reduce decisions, minimise waste and give households more time for what matters. Our ambition is for ConnectLife to become a true assistant to households – an increasingly integrated and personalised way to manage the home.”

What does the next 20 years look like for Hisense? They say they remain focused on delivering meaningful design, features and capabilities that Australian households can trust and that meet the demands of modern life.
