One of the big challenges facing the range of ever connected devices in our home is delivering the Internet to those devices.
I’ve spoken in podcast after podcast about the different ways you can distribute the internet around your home, Wifi, Ethernet, and Powerline.
Despite the huge range of device options, the retail level distribution is an ongoing problem. Today, FOXTEL and NETCOMM announced the provision of NETCOMM Powerline based adaptors to push the Internet to your Foxtel box.
With Foxtel On Demand, internet connected FOXTEL IQ boxes can access TV Shows, Movies and other content on demand, without the filter of a Foxtel decision about what to make available ‘On Demand’.
The problem is, if you don’t have your modem/router near the Foxtel box, you will struggle to access this new service.
Powerline and Wifi adaptors are readily available, and many people will already have started using them, however, under this agreement today, Foxtel customers can call Foxtel on 131 999 and order a NETCOMM powerline adaptor for just $80 and will be available from November 15.
The NETCOMM device also has the advantage of allowing you to plug any other device into it, so the powerpoint is not wasted on your Foxtel Connectivity.
If you love your TV, and your movies, You will love the Foxtel On Demand service which is now available via the Internet.
