There’s nothing quite like a live music experience. Which is what makes Moshcam such an awesome proposition. The live concert website has just launched a free universal iOS app that brings hundreds of concerts to your iPad or iPhone.
With shows from bands as varied as Jane’s Addiction and Blondie, as well as some real show stoppers from Aussie rockers Karnivool and Art vs Science, there’s a huge selection of shows to choose from.
The first five concerts you unlock are completely free to watch in their entirety. With AirPlay support built in, you can also stream them directly to your Apple TV for a big screen experience.
The concerts are all ad free, and after you’ve activated the first five concerts, you can expect to pay a couple of dollars for each subsequent show. Not a bad price for over an hour’s worth of entertainment.
If your internet connection’s up to it, you can stream the shows in 1080p high definition, but if you aren’t getting that kind of quality, the app will drop down the video quality on the fly to make sure you can continue to watch the concert. If your connection is really slow, it might drop back to audio only, but the idea is that it will stream consistently, even over 3G.
New concerts are added all the time, with the app actually notifying you when a show has been uploaded if you’ve marked it as a favourite.
If you own an Apple device and love live music, it’s a must own.
