Qantas Australian Grand Prix: Behind the scenes with Red Bull Racing and Infiniti

During last weekend’s Qantas Australian GP, EFTM went behind the scenes at Red Bull Racing to experience what it is like to mix it with the big boys. Want to know how the other side watches Formula 1? Here’s a sneak peak…

Sebastian Vettel addresses the guests of Red Bull and Infinity at the Red Bull hospitality unit at turn 15 of the Albert Park circuit. The hospitality unit includes a bar, simulators, outside area, balcony, free food and drinks and lounges. Justin Hemmes and Rob Mills were often seen lounging around. We don’t know if that’s a good thing yet.

Inside the Red Bull hospitality unit. Anyone for some Red Bull? Those fridges are full of free cans plus a range of other drinks.

F1 2011 with a Logitech steering wheel is available in the Red Bull hospitality unit for anyone wanting a bit more of the action (like Damo).

Lounging around with Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne in the Red Bull hospitality unit.

Mark Webber speaks to Red Bull and Infiniti guests in the F1 Paddock after qualifying. Despite only managing fifth he was rather upbeat at being ahead of Vettel.

Caterham Renault driver Heikki Kovalainen wonders past the Red Bull Paddock area so quickly the iPhone’s HDR couldn’t capture him properly. Fastest he went all weekend! Ouch… The Paddock is where most of the media interviews are held and where the teams grab a feed during the day.

Out front of the Red Bull Racing garages. Behind the Total tool boxes is a standing area for guests where they can listen in to the team radio with noise cancelling headphones and witness what it is like to be in the garage during a practice or qualifying session. Infinity guests stood in the garage during Saturday practice. You’re not allowed to take pictures inside the garage.

It’s a long way to the back when you’re all the way up the front. The view from the front of the pit lane at Red Bull Racing.
