SBS On Demand appeared on Sony’s Bravia TVs years ago. Then it made its way to the Xbox 360. Today, the multicultural broadcaster made its long-awaited appearance on the Playstation 3.
Offering access to SBS’s fantastic documentaries, sports, food programs and subtitled international programming, the PS3 app has been custom designed for the console’s user interface. And while it doesn’t offer the same voice control functions as the Xbox 360 version, it does look clean and is easy to use.
With over 1.5 million PS3 consoles around the country, the move brings On Demand viewing of SBS content to a significantly larger audience. Considering it’s free (although downloads aren’t unmetered), and available to everyone, it’s a fantastic addition to the entertainment services on the home entertainment console.
