There’s a million things we can compare between these two stunning smartphones – we’ll bring you bits and pieces as we see them with a full comparison soon.  First up – Camera Quality.

Features aside, just how good are the pictures these phones produce.

On a sunny day, we took two hot cars (Toyota 86 and Volkswagen GTI) and parked them together.  Holding the HTC ONE (M8) and Samsung Galaxy S5 side by side we snapped simultaneous photos.

It’s hard to show it clearly, except by taking a part of the picture and trying to animate the difference.

It’s pretty clear from the originals that the HTC ONE (M8) has a lower resolution photo output – the images are basically half the resolution (2688×1520 vs 5312×2988 on the GS5).

There is something about the crisp nature of the pics.  Even when used on social networks there is a clear difference:

At a glance, the differences are subtle – in colour and lighting.  Up close, it’s a slam dunk to the Galaxy S5 in this one.
