The world of Formula One driver movements is one of great speculation and huge finances.  Tens of millions of dollars are spent on the biggest names in F1, and just weeks ago the cat was thrown amongst the pigeons with Sebastian Vettel announcing he would leave Red Bull Racing at the end of the 2014 season.  Just where will he be in 2015?

Early money, and still the strong money, was on Ferrari.  The fairytale was too good to knock back.  Just like his countryman Michael Schumacher, could it be possible for Sebastian Vettel to deliver Ferrari their first Formula One Drivers World Championship since 2007, and Constructors Championship since 2008?

Word in the paddock was that Fernando Alonso would be out of Ferrari, off to McLaren, while Seb would move to Ferrari – likely alongside Kimi Raikkonen.

Let me throw a spanner in the works for you.

EFTM has learned from a McLaren insider that Vettel has spent “many days at McLaren HQ recently”.  In fact, as I write this, “he is there right now getting a factory tour”.

Could an announcement about the future of Sebastian Vettel be imminent?

And what does this mean for the rest of the puzzle??  Kevin Magnussen, Jenson Button and Fernando Alonso.

Many would believe Fernando is in fact off to another team, or taking a break from the sport.  But remember, this is Ron Dennis we’re talking about.  The man who put Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna side by side in 1988 and 1989 – a stronger rivalry did not exist at the time which delivered four Constructors World Championships in a row.

Yes, this could just be more of the same rumour and speculation, but after the most boring F1 Grand Prix in many years last night in Russia, I’ll take this speculation any day.
