Hisense steps up sport and motorsport partnership, inking a new deal with Infiniti Red Bull Racing

Chinese electronics company Hisense – known best for their TVs, has taken a big leap forward in their sporting and brand partnerships, announcing a deal with Formula One team Red Bull Racing today ahead of the Chinese Grand Prix.

The multi-year deal further substantiates the brand to Aussies, who would know it from their Australian Open Tennis, Melbourne stadium sponsorship and Australian Grand Prix sponsorship.

With Daniel Ricciardo leading the Red Bull charge it’s as much a big deal for Hisense in Australia as it is for the brand globally who also have associations with NASCAR in the USA and a football team in Germany.

“Infiniti Red Bull Racing is one of the most successful and most talked about teams in a sport renowned for technology, teamwork and competitiveness,” said Dr. Lin, Executive Vice President of Hisense Company Ltd.  “Like Infiniti Red Bull Racing, we are a proud challenger brand and we continually innovate our best-in-class consumer products to stay ahead of the others.  We look forward to sharing these with the team to help them throughout the season.”

Red Bull Racing Team Principal, Christian Horner, said: “Everyone associated with Infiniti Red Bull Racing is delighted to welcome Hisense to our team. Their approach to innovation and technological development is impressive and we look forward to our partnership developing as the season unfolds.”

You might not know this, but Hisense is the fourth most popular TV brand in the world, and is aiming to chip into number three with a target of 7.5 billion USD in revenue in the overseas market in 2017.  They’re already number 1 in China and have been for 11 years, so it’s a logical progression, similar to that which Lenovo have taken in the PC market.

Bring on the Hisense logos on Dan’s car this weekend!
